The Openwater RS1 thermal suit is the one that offers the highest thermal protection in the Orca range. It has a specially developed interior lining to maximize heat retention in open water. In addition, it includes a second layer of “batwing” neoprene which offers better protection at the level of the zipper and the neck, and thus manages to compensate for the weak point of swimming suits for swimming in cold waters.

KEY POINTS
ADDITIONAL WARMTH: On the bust, up to 5mm thick Yamamoto 39 technology and internal thermal lining provide maximum insulation where it is needed most, without affecting swimmer’s position or restricting movement. This material provides an insulating effect 85% higher than without a wetsuit. The high performance Thermal X interior liner retains heat more effectively than other conventional interior textiles. Its soft and pleasant touch makes it extremely comfortable.
YAMAMOTO 40: On the shoulders and back, the top of the suit incorporates the Yamamoto 40 material with Infinityskin lining. This material is capable of stretching over 130%, more than double its original size, for maximum performance in arm movements. For high range of motion at the shoulders, it offers 72% less resistance than conventional neoprene.
“BATWINGS” CONSTRUCTION: To avoid heat loss on the back due to the zipper, this model incorporates the “Batwings” construction which consists of a second layer of neoprene. This layer prevents water that seeps through the zipper from coming into direct contact with the body, retaining a layer of hot water inside. It also guarantees an ideal fit at the neck to reduce friction and the flow of water from the neck to the inside of the suit.
